Girls Give Golf a Go

Bring your friends, family, neighbour or colleague along, for fun filled girl’s afternoon.

The basics of how to chip, putt and swing are covered, before going out on the course to play a couple of holes.

The emphasis is on fun and gaining an understanding about golf. The coach will be our local pro Kevin Smith with help from women volunteers from our club.

The afternoon ends with enjoying the hospitality of a glass of bubbles and nibbles.

Otaki Golf Club

Otaki Golf Course is renowned for being the best course on the Kapiti Coast. It’s central location means just less than and hour’s drive from Wellington or Palmerston North. The Club has excellent facilities and is set in a rural environment but only a minute from the Otaki township where there are a variety of interesting shops and cafes and accommodation.

We are proud of our heritage and the friendly, family atmosphere that exists and we do not apologise for the ‘fun’ aspect engendered in our club culture. The club has active interclub teams for both men and women and we are very proud of our junior coaching programme and events.

Course Features

The course is the most playable in the region having excellent drainage and a modern irrigation system for both fairways and greens. We are lucky in that we have one of the best green superintendents in the country looking after the course having recently been awarded runner-up in the NZ Golf Environmental awards. The course proper is undulating, easy walking but excellent exercise. It is not too long, each hole is distinctive and the course encourages good shot making whether you are a high or low handicap player. Otaki is an enjoyable course and while it has no creeks or swamps to lose balls in, it should not be taken lightly as it has its own unique challenges.

Club Features

The clubhouse is centrally situated on the course and has catering and bar facilities. There is a small shop and adequate changing and locker facilities. Clubs and trundlers are available for hire, and we also have a limited number of golf carts for hire. In addition to the club facilities we also have toilet facilities on the course.
