North Shore Golf Club
The North Shore Golf Club is located on the upper fringes of the Waitemata Harbour, adjacent to the fast growing Albany area. Features of this picturesque course are 27 tree lined holes that offer players the option of three different 18 hole layouts; Red, Blue and Gold.
Each covers undulating terrain and demands good course management from players of all levels. The scenic aspect of the club encompasses rural views poised above the natural backdrop of the Lucas Creek escarpment.
All this just 10 minutes north of the Harbour Bridge.
For many years the North Shore Club courses have seen an ongoing programme of development and enhancement. New tees, greens, fairways and, in many instances, complete new holes have been introduced, resulting in an excellent layout. Not long by international standards, the course nevertheless requires clever shot making and an appreciation of the subtleties of accurate golf.
As the course is built on North Shore clays, playing conditions can change dramatically through the fours seasons. Comprehensive drainage has overcome the problems of wet winters, while the installation of fairway watering in the early years has extended ideal playing conditions beyond the traditional outstanding spring and autumn periods. This course can prove a challenge.
Bar and LoungeThe Club has a large lounge for corporate events, a stunning new bar and an area where golfers can relax in magnificent surroundings. The staff at North Shore Golf Club are only too happy to assist you.
Locker RoomsThere are showers and toilet facilities for men and women players with both having a large open plan locker/changing room. In addition upstairs there are men and women disabled toilets and downstairs a disabled toilet and shower facility.
Golf Practice AreaA practice fairway including distance markers with both grass and artificial turf hitting areas are provided to hit range balls at $4, $7 or $12 per bucket. Barcodes to operate the allocation of range balls are available from the Pro Shop.
Two large practice putting greens and a bunker/chipping green are also available.
Golf CartsThe club has thirteen golf carts that can be rented though the Pro Shop. The Pro Shop is advised on a daily basis by the Course Superintendent if the course is too wet for the use of golf carts.
Golf Equipment CleaningTwo compressed air hoses are available for the cleaning of golf equipment and shoes after your game of golf. In addition there is a hosing bay for your use.
Cafe
Excellent food is available form the caterers at the club. Food is not their only specialty - assistance can also be provided for your private function or your golf function.
