Calling all ladies and young girls that are keen to give golf a go. Hororata Golf Club is part of the national She Loves Golf campaign and this is the third year we have been involved. The sessions have proved extremely popular and will only get better and better.
We are lucky to have the services of golf professional, Kevin Hughes, who will show you everything you need to know about getting started.
Whether you are new to golf or want to get back to golf, or even just need some tips in your game, then you are welcome to join us.
This is a free event so why not get a group together and come along, no prior golf skills required, no age restrictions. All gear supplied. Starts 10am.
Enjoy a coffee before and/or afterwards in the new Willows Cafe Glentunnel which is in the clubhouse.

Hororata Golf Club
Hororata Golf Club is among the most picturesque clubs in Canterbury. Set on two levels of river flats with streams winding through the course, it is an enjoyable test of golf. The club’s 18 hole course is situated in the small rural town of Glentunnel, some 35 minutes West of Christchurch. Green fee players are welcome and are $30.
The Club has a Cafe' called the Willows Cafe', it is situated in the main Club house where you can sit and enjoy a coffee while enjoying looking out over the very picturesque course.
The course is set across river terraces of the Selwyn River.
From the white tees it measures 5617 metres and from the yellow tees it measures 5005 metres for a Par 71.
There are picturesque plantings of strategically placed trees and a creek bisects 6 holes.
Target greens test the accuracy of even the best golfer and the hole lengths make for a pleasant experience for those less proficient.
