Motueka Golf Club

Motueka Golf Club is very fortunate to have such a quality golf course for our members and visitors to enjoy. Our motto is "The Friendliest Golf Course in the Top of the South" and we do our absolute best to live up to that standard. In November 2022 it was our honour to host the NZ Freyberg Masters and we were humbled and gratified from the many wonderful comments we received from the visiting players about our course and the way they were welcomed. In 2018 we were awarded " NZ Golf Club of the Year" by NZ Golf; another recognition that we are very proud of.

Our course is set in a parklike environment, quite flat with narrow tree lined fairways. The course certainly rewards accuracy off the tee! The combination of holes is quite unusual in that we have five par fives, five par threes and eight par fours. Our Club house is centrally situated on the course.

With fairway watering you are always welcomed by lush fairways and greens that are true, consistent and subtly deceptive. Being situated by the sea on the outskirts of Motueka a number of the tee blocks provide wonderful views across Tasman Bay with Durville Island on the horizon.

This is not a course that you can over power, it requires course management and patience. The challenge we would like to set you is to play to your handicap the first time you play our course - if you can do that you will certainly be in the minority!

We take pride in the condition of the course which is the result of our excellent Greenkeepers and the team of volunteers who assist them so ably. We are also very proud of the wonderful variety of trees we have on the course and the abundant birdlife that share the course with us. We have had a pest eradication programme on our course for a number of years and the birds have certainly benefited from that.

So if you are visiting our beautiful part of the country, put aside time for a game of golf We promise you that you won't be disappointed! As Sir Bob Charles has said, it is a hidden gem!

We have a driving range and putting and chipping greens.

The bar is open and food available most days.
Coaching is available by arrangement.
